Greeted us as we pulled up in the car and after showing us to our room came back with a very welcome tray with cold drink and biscuits much appreciated as it was very hot. It is well situated just up from church. We have been to Kalives before with Kosmar but having found Erodios we will always come back to stay there from now on could not fault it." We certainly recommend others to stay but will make the comment that the living room is a bit small. However, with the weather in Crete this is normally not an issue and even the two days with rain didn't cause us a problem as there is so much to do and see at Crete. So a very big thank you! for a wonderful time." The apartments are spotlessly clean, close to the beach and just a 2 min walk from the delightful town square and kafenia. Plenty of local taverns and for 3 courses each including wine, our bills were always under €25 - amazing! And after a long, hot day on the beach, Rena had left some grapes and homemade baklava in the fridge to revive us! I would recommend these apartments and Kalives to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in a bustling Cretan village, where locals out number the tourists and you want an ideal base for exploring West Crete. Just can't wait to go back soon!" Posted by Rhiannon and Dave W., UK (2006) "A big thank you to everyone at the Erodios apartments in Kalives for making our holiday such a relaxing stay. I'd been to Kalives previously but it was the first time for Dave and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It's very conveniently situated and the apartments and grounds are kept beautifully. The staff are fantastic and always happy to help or offer advice on places to visit and short cuts for walks if it gets too hot! Hopefully we'll see you again next year, thank you again for such a great holiday" Posted by Suzanne and Darren H., UK (2006) "To everyone - thank you again for a wonderful holiday. Erodios apartments so very pleasant. Thanks for the warm welcoming at
the airport and at the hotel, all the tasty homemade cakes, the friendly
and hospital atmosphere, the celebration of my mother's birthday... We have been to various Greek islands over 15 times and have been to Crete 5 times and we found erodios to be the best apartment we have stayed in out of all of those visits. The building and grounds are appointed and maintained to a high standard and the rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The apartments are situated in an ideal place, within easy walking distance of the village square and beach but just far enough away to ensure a tranquil and quiet stay. An excellent choice for anyone wishing to visit this beautiful place. It is very clean and the "room service" is very nice and welcoming. It is very well equipped and in a good shape and modern which is rare in Greece (we were able to cook there everyday (French people love cooking ....), there is a lovely terrace on each apartment, the view is gorgeous, the village is quiet and nice with everything you need (supermarket, international newspaper, internet cafe, bars, beaches of course...). It is very close by Chania, which is a lovely town if you go to the old part : the old harbour. There is NO bad surprise, the owner is here to help you and not to be a crook and this is AGAIN rare in Greece... thank you again." Kosmar). Tried to book them again for this year, however, Erodios was
not with Kosmar. We would definitely have stayed there again this year
if they had still been with Kosmar. The Erodios apartments are great.
They are cleaned every day and the owners are lovely people who really
make you feel welcome. Posted by Fabian M., UK "Two friends and I stayed at Erodios in September/October 2003. The best recommendation I can make is that I have already booked to go back in April and hope to go again in September. I have been visiting Kalives for over 15 years and can honestly say that I have never found cleaner, more comfortable, well decorated and maintained apartments - they are superb (and excellent value for money). I hope not too many people read this review - the apartments might be fully booked when I want to make my next reservation." Posted by Roger D., UK "Stayed at your apartments during October 2003 whilst exploring Western Crete. The quality and service was excellent. I would recommend your accommodation unreservedly. I hope to return soon". Posted by James and Eileen C., UK "We stayed in the Erodios apartments Sept/ Oct 2003, and had a very restful and comfortable stay. The accommodation is very well appointed and we will always remember the lovely views, and the friendliness of the owners. We hope to return before too long." We'd already visited Kalives in the past, but it was during summer. However this time we had to get there in winter. The hotel we had stayed was closed, so we booked at Erodios apartments. Although during summer the village was crowded, now it was very quiet. I suppose we were lucky because although most of the days it was raining, a beautiful winter sun was shining behind clouds pretty often. To our surprise during some days it was almost like spring, it was so hot. We were not exactly on holidays, yet we found time to stroll on the wet sandy beach and enjoy the tranquility of the place. The apartments are in a very quite neighborhood. We loved to sit out at afternoon on the balcony and enjoy the view. The owners are friendly and they did their best to make us feel at home. They even offered us melomakarona, kourabiedes (traditional cookies they make in Greece) and raki. We had booked two double rooms at the hotel we had been staying last year, but we decided to extend our holidays and since the hotel didn't have any vacancies, we had to look for another hotel. We heard about Erodios apartments and went to see them. We were delighted! The owner showed to us an apartment with two bedrooms (so we could be with our children) which had a separate sitting area and a kitchenette. It had two balconies - when the doors were left opened a pleasantly cool breeze ventilated the apartment. The apartment was very tidy and clean. In the beginning we were worried about the price, we thought that it would be expensive, but finally it wasn't! The owners were very friendly and hospitable and did their best to assure that we had a comfortable stay." Posted by John H., England "We booked via Internet an apartment for two at Erodios apartments and just hoped that the descriptions we read at the site would be for real. In the first place we were surprised to discover that they meant it when they said that the bedroom is a separate room from the sitting -area (usually it's one room and the owners are trying to mislead you). The apartments were kept very clean and nice. The apartments are family run and the owners are incredibly friendly. As far as it concerns Kalives it is a beautiful village. Not at all clubby, it is ideal for couples or families who want a restful holiday" Posted by Michael B., Germany "We were looking for a hotel near Kalives beach, but we were so enthusiastic about erodios apartments when we saw them that we forgot all about having to walk some more meters to reach the beach. The apartments were in a very quiet part of the village, yet near the village's square, in a cleverly designed building. Our apartment had two balconies (with both sea and inland views) and it was spotlessly clean. The family that runs the apartments is lovely and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. I strongly recommend these apartments for a nice family holiday or for couples who are looking for peaceful holidays" Posted by Eleanor T., France "I haven't been to Erodios Apartments but I have visited Crete and Kalives three times in the past. Kalives is a quiet village with a lovely sandy beach, some taverns and a few bars, a nice little river but most of all it's a great base from which to explore Crete (especially Chania and Rethimno Prefectures). You can hire a car and visit south Crete or places near by, like kourna lake or georgioupolis. Don't miss visiting the old harbor at Chania. However, I should give you a piece of advise: avoid Crete in July and August if you can't put up with heat. Crete in these months is insanely hot and sunny! I think May is the best time to visit Crete. " *Privacy policies: Your personal details will never be sold or given to any other company.
